The grapes for HunterIII come from several unique Viticultural Areas in the Napa Valley.
- Barlow Vineyards is located south of Calistoga on the Silverado Trail just north of the Three Palms Vineyard. It is a slope hill vineyard on red soil that provides fruit of intense color and flavor. It is planted to Cabernet Sauvignon clone #7.
- Konrad Vineyard sits high above the Valley on Mt. Veeder. The eastern facing terraces of this hillside vineyard allow for early morning and mid-day sun, as well as for late-day shade. It's the perfect combination for outstanding Cabernet Sauvignon!
- Oakview Vineyard is located in Oakville on Skellenger Lane Southwest of the Silverado Trail. This is a deep loamy soil that produces intense purple fruit with jammy ripe flavors and velvety tannins. It is planted to Cabernet Sauvignon clone #337.
- Star Vineyard is located in the heart of Rutherford. This highly sought after vineyard has been farmed by the Oliver family of El Molino Winery for over 25 years. I am able to acquire Cabernet grapes of both clone #7 and the "Martha's Vineyard" clone. The wines from these grapes are deep purple, with soft, jammy fruit flavors. And yes, there is a slight aroma of the classic "Rutherford Dust."
- TrioB Vineyard is located in Yountville south of town on the Yountville Bench. This alluvial soil produces outstanding Bordeaux blending varitals! The Cabernet Franc displays elegant gingerbread spice notes while being inky purple in color, and the Petit Verdot has delightful Violet aromas and color.
